According to the Women and Youth Crime Investigation Team at Seoul Hyehwa Police Station, the executive, identified only as “A,” the wife of the former CEO, was sent to the prosecution on May 7 under suspicion of workplace-related sexual harassment. Six members of Omega X accused her of committing indecent acts during overseas travel and inside the company’s Seoul office.

In the complaint filed by seven out of the 11 Omega X members in August 2023, multiple disturbing incidents were cited. One member stated that in September 2022, while at a South American airport during their world tour, A allegedly sat next to him while intoxicated, linked arms, and hugged him without consent. Another member reported that in July 2022, A touched his thigh during a discussion at the company office.

After months of investigation, the police found the allegations credible for six members and recommended indictment. However, a claim by member Hwichan was dismissed due to lack of evidence. Notably, A filed a counter-complaint against Hwichan, alleging that he sexually harassed her—this claim has also been forwarded to the prosecution for review.

The scandal began in October 2022 when footage revealed male idols being verbally and physically assaulted, forced to drink, and sexually harassed by senior agency officials. Although the agency denied the allegations and claimed contract tampering, the Seoul Central District Court sided with the idols, citing agency misconduct and awarding each member 5 million KRW in damages.

Further compounding the controversy, executive A is also facing assault charges. Member Jaehan testified that after a performance in Los Angeles on October 22, 2022, A yanked his hoodie near a hotel elevator, causing him to fall. She was fined 500,000 KRW, but has challenged the decision and is now undergoing a full trial, with a verdict expected in July.
As the case continues, it underscores the troubling realities faced by K-pop idols and calls renewed attention to the need for reform and accountability within the industry.
